60 Balconies is the Madrid-born design-apartment brand, and Iconic is its statement property: a pool (the second of only two in our curation), full kitchens, in-unit washers, and interiors that justify the name, rating 9.4 over 209 stays on the corridor between Atocha and the barrio proper.

Against Eric Vökel at the same ~$164: this is the adults' version (local brand, sharper design, smaller scale) while Vökel wins for families on review depth, the hot tub, and pet policy. You're choosing a vibe, not a quality gap; both are excellent.

The Atocha corridor is the location's real argument: you're within a walk of the art triangle (Prado, Reina Sofía, Thyssen) and steps from Atocha station, which turns a day trip to Toledo into a same-morning decision. The trade is character, this stretch runs more as an artery than a barrio, so you'll wander north into Lavapiés or Las Letras for the evenings rather than find them waiting at the door.
